Critical steps for this pproblem

Hi,
here is the critical steps:
i don't know whether this steps works on desktop or not. But, i'll write both.

1) For laptop:
note: you can choose either of these.

1.1 Press the power key, which is used to open up your computer. Wiat for about one minute and the computer should turn off. If not, then press spacebar, spacebar and again for several time with delays on each commands. Note: this works on laptop as well as desktop.
1.2 Press and hold the "Power key" (without releasing it) for about 10 to 20 seconds till the computer shut down (you will here a tuck sound from the hartdisk indicating that it shutted off, and computer will die. Release it, then. Press the power key, to turn on it again. This step only works on laptop, i think so!
1.3 switch off the plug point (where the cables are connect to electric power). Note this works on both laptop and desktop.
1.4 If you're using battery, then take the batterry from the computer. THis works on laptop only.
